The sun-kissed beach brought them together,
the waves of passion that marked them forever.
The tranquility they got with each other,
emotions running in a haphazard fashion.
They moved quickly and surely,
the heat of the summer egging them on.
Strangers they might be, unknown before
but for that instant that didn’t matter.
A week they spent together,
confiding secrets never before heard.
The fire in their eyes burning brighter
than anything they’d ever felt before.
A memorable time, for each of them
a time of yearning and wonder.
As quickly as they’d come, they left
never to see each other again,
each leaving a footprint on the other,
a print to be washed away.

If someone knows that many of your secrets, maybe it’s best they disappear.
